Step #1 In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder & salt.
Step #2 Cut in shortening.
Step #3 Mix in egg.
Step #4 Add 1/3 c milk.
Step #5 Slowly add as much milk as needed to make a non-sticky dough.
Step #6 Pat dough out on floured surface.
Step #7 Cut rounds with biscuit cutters or drinking glasses.
Step #8 Place on ungreased cookie sheet & bake for 10 mins 450F til lightly browned.
Step #9 Split in half.
Step #10 If desired, spread each half with butter.
Step #11 Sprinkle top artificial sweetener over strawberries & mix well.
Step #12 Spoon strawberries over biscuit halves.
Step #13 Top with whipped topping.
