Jelly (jello) Slice (bar) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 lemons, juice of .
  • 85 g Jello gelatin (jelly) .
  • 250 g plain sweet biscuits (cookies) .
  • 2 tsps unflavored gelatin .
  • Base .
  • 185 g butter, melted .
  • Filling .
  • 400F g sweetened condensed milk .
  • 3/4 c water (dissolve gelatin in this) .
  • 1 c boiling water .
  • Topping .
  • 1 c cold water

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine crushed biscuits & butter mixing well; press into greased 30cm X 23cm (12" X 9") pan & put in the fridge.
  • Step #2 Combine condensed milk, lemon juice & gelatin mix.
  • Step #3 Mix well & pour over prepared base; put in the fridge 2 hrs.
  • Step #4 Mix jelly powder & boiling water together, then add cold water.
  • Step #5 Refrigerate until consistency of unbeaten egg white, pour over lemon layer.
  • Step #6 Refrigerate, then cut into squares when set.
  • Step #7 *I prefer a red jelly for this, but any flavour would be OK.
