Chocolate Malted Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 2 (3.5 oz) packages non-instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 (1 oz) squares bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/3 c malted milk powder
  • 3 c milk
  • 2 tbsps chocolate syrup
  • 1 c heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4 c chocolate covered malted milk balls, cut into pieces

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook pudding according to package directions, using the 3 c of milk.
  • Step #2 Remove from heat.
  • Step #3 Add bittersweet chocolate, & stir in the malted milk powder.
  • Step #4 Cool mixture for 5 mins, stirring often, then pour this into crumb crust.
  • Step #5 Cover & put in the fridge for 2 hrs.
  • Step #6 Up to one hr before serving: beat cream & sugar with electric mixer until soft peaks form when beaters are lifted.
  • Step #7 Spread whipped cream over chocolate filling.
  • Step #8 Chop the malted milk balls into 3 or 4 pieces each, & sprinkle on top of the pie.
  • Step #9 Drizzle pie with the chocolate syrup.
  • Step #10 Refrigerate until serving time.
