Cincinnati Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c shredded cheddar cheese .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 2 c onions, sliced .
  • 2 tsps chili powder .
  • 1 dash ground cloves .
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground chuck .
  • 4 c tomato juice (I use Campbell's) .
  • 2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained .
  • 16 oz hot cooked, drained & slightly buttered spaghetti .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook the beef, onions & garlic In a large-ish (6 qt.
  • Step #2 ) stockpot over medium-high heat, until the beef is well-browned, stirring frequently to break up the meat.
  • Step #3 Drain any fat.
  • Step #4 Add the chili powder, cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves.
  • Step #5 Cook & stir for 2-3 mins.
  • Step #6 Add tomato juice & heat to a boil.
  • Step #7 Reduce heat to low & let simmer for 30 mins.
  • Step #8 Stir in beans.
  • Step #9 Cover up & cook for 15 mins on low, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #10 Serve over spaghetti & top this with shredded cheddar cheese.
