Step #1
In a large skillet, saute the onions, celery & mushrooms in butter until tender.
Step #2 Add broth & seasonings; mix well.
Step #3 Place bread cubes in a large bowl; add mushroom mixture & toss to coat.
Step #4 Stir in enough warm water to reach desired moistness.
Step #5 Just before baking, loosely stuff turkey.
Step #6 Place any remaining stuffing in a greased baking dish; cover & put in the fridge until ready to bake.
Step #7 Skewer turkey openings; tie drumsticks together with kitchen string.
Step #8 Place breast side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
Step #9 Brush with melted butter.
Step #10 Bake turkey, uncovered, at 325F degrees for 3-3/4 to 4-1/2 hrs or until a meat thermometer reads 180 for the turkey & 165 for the stuffing, basting every once in awhile with pan drippings.
Step #11 (Cover loosely with foil if turkey browns too quickly.

Bake extra stuffing, covered, for 30-40 mins.
Step #13 Uncover; bake 10 mins longer or until lightly browned.
Step #14 Cover turkey with foil & let this stand for 20 mins before removing stuffing & carving.
Step #15 If desired, thicken pan drippings for gravy.
