Step #1
Place water, bouillon cubes, & raisins in a saucepan over high heat.
Step #2 Bring to a boil, & let simmer until bouillon cubes dissolve.
Step #3 Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large saucepan over med-heat/flame.
Step #4 Add onion, & ginger; cook & stir until the onion has softened & turned translucent, garlic, about 5 mins.
Step #5 Add cinnamon sticks, coriander, turmeric, cayenne, & cumin; cook for about 3 mins until fragrant, cloves, stirring constantly.
Step #6 Stir garbanzo beans, yams, & pear into onions; pour in hot vegetable stock & raisins.
Step #7 Bring to a simmer, cover, then reduce heat to medium-low, & let simmer until the vegetables have softened & the sauce has thickened, about 1 hr.
Step #8 Spice up to taste with salt & stir in the sliced cilantro before serving.
