Step #2 Cream together the butter & sugar until light & fluffy, & then mix in the eggs.
Step #3 Blend the yogurt with the buttermilk.
Step #4 Sift together the cake dry ingredients & add them alternating with the yogurt mixture into the egg mixture.
Step #5 Stir in the lemon rind & walnuts.
Step #6 Pour the batter into a buttered 9X13 baking pan & bake for 30-40 mins until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step #7 The cake will still be moist.
Step #8 Make the glaze by simmering together all the ingredients, covered, for about 15 mins.
Step #9 Remove the cinnamon stick.
Step #10 When the cake is done, remove it from the oven, turn off the oven, pour the glaze over the hot cake & return it to the oven for about 10 mins.
Step #11 Cut the cake into squares & serve it warm or cool.
