1/2 c Splenda sugar substitute (sugar substitute) .
1 lb gala apples .
1 tsp cinnamon .
1/2 c water .
1/8 tsp cinnamon .
OPTIONAL Garnish .
3 tsps Splenda sugar substitute .
2 tbsps apple brandy
Directions
Step #1 Peel & core apples, then cut into 1-inch pieces.
Step #2 Bring apples, water, & cinnamon to a boil in a 2-quart heavy saucepan, then reduce heat & let simmer, Splenda, zest, covered, stirring every once in awhile, 15 mins.
Step #3 Remove lid & let simmer until most of liquid is evaporated, 5 to 10 mins.
Step #4 Add apple brandy & let simmer, stirring every once in awhile, 1 min.
Step #5 Mash apples with a potato masher or a fork to a coarse sauce, then cool.
Step #6 For Garnish - Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step #7 Place pitas on cookie sheet & spray both sides with non-stick cooking spray.
Step #8 Cut each pita into 4 wedges.
Step #9 Sprinkle top both sides of wedges with mixture of Splenda & cinnamon.
Step #10 Bake in oven just until crisp (5-7 mins).
