Ingredients
4 (14 oz) cans chicken broth, plus enough water to equal 8 cans .
1 1/2 c sliced onions .
1 c uncooked macaroni .
1 bay leaf .
2 tbsps paprika .
1 lb top round steaks, cut into 1/2-inch cubes .
1 tbsp minced garlic .
3 tbsps butter .
1/2 c sour cream .
2 tbsps flour .
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper .
4 large carrots, sliced .
1 (14 oz) can whole tomatoes, drained, sliced & juice reserved .
3 tbsps tomato paste .
1/2 tsp caraway seeds, crushed .
1/2 tsp marjoram
Directions
Step #1 Melt butter in large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Step #2 Add beef & brown on all sides for 5 mins.
Step #3 Transfer to a plate; set aside.
Step #4 Add onion & garlic & cook for 5 mins.
Step #5 Add beef, stirring constantly, flour & paprika; cook, for 3 mins.
Step #6 Stir in tomato paste until smooth.
Step #7 Add chicken broth & water, carrots, tomatoes & reserved juice, caraway seeds, bay leaf, marjoram, & pepper.
Step #8 Bring to a boil; reduce heat & let simmer, stirring every once in awhile, for 30 mins.
Step #9 Add macaroni & let simmer until beef is just tender & vegetables are cooked through, about 20-30 mins.
Step #10 Remove bay leaf.
Step #11 Top each serving with sour cream.
