Fruit And Nut Breakfast Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1-2 tsp milk .
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar .
  • 1/2 c dates, sliced .
  • 1 (11 oz) can French bread, loaf crusty .
  • 1 c dried apricots, sliced .
  • 1/2 c almonds, slivered

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Step #3 Carefully unroll dough onto cookie sheet.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top with apricots, dates & almonds evenly over dough.
  • Step #5 Starting with long side, roll up; seal edges.
  • Step #6 Fold ends under; seal.
  • Step #7 Bake 26 to 30 mins or until deep golden brown.
  • Step #8 Immediately remove loaf from cookie sheet; place on serving plate or cutting board.
  • Step #9 Cool for 10 mins.
  • Step #10 Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix powdered sugar & enough milk for desired drizzling consistency (I added just a little splash of almond extract!) stir until smooth.
  • Step #11 Drizzle icing over slightly cooled loaf.
  • Step #12 To serve, cut diagonally into slices with serrated knife.
