Butter Jam Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 1/4 c butter or margarine .
  • 3 c sifted flour .
  • 1/4 tsp apricot preserves .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1/3 c finely sliced walnuts .
  • 2 tbsps vanilla

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift flour & salt together.
  • Step #2 Cream butter.
  • Step #3 Gradually add sugar, creaming well.
  • Step #4 Blend in unbeaten eggs & vanilla; beat well.
  • Step #5 Add the dry ingredients slowly; mix thoroughly.
  • Step #6 Drop by rounded tspfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #7 Dent center of each, using back of tsp dipped in cold water.
  • Step #8 Place preserves or jam into center of each.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with nuts.
  • Step #10 Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 mins.
