Ingredients

1/2 tsp baking powder .
1 c firmly packed brown sugar .
1 c oats .
1 c shortening .
1/2 tsp salt .
1 tsp vanilla .
1 c chocolate chips .
1 c flour .
2 c coconut .
1/2 tsp baking soda .
1 large egg

Directions

Step #1 Mix all dry ingredients.
Step #2 Work in shortening.
Step #3 Drop tspfuls of batter onto greased cookie sheet.
Step #4 Flatten with fork dipped in milk.
Step #5 Bake at 350° for 7-10 mins or until edges begin to brown.
Step #6 Watch as they burn quickly.
Step #7 Increase chocolate chips based on taste.
