Delicious Rosemary Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c bread flour
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 c warm water
  • 2 tbsps butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsps rosemary
  • 1 (.25 oz) package active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, beaten (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 Dissolve the sugar in warm water in a medium bowl, & mix in the yeast.
  • Step #2 When yeast is bubbly, 1 tbsp rosemary, mix in salt, butter, & Italian seasoning.
  • Step #3 Mix in 2 c flour.
  • Step #4 Gradually add in the remaining flour to form a workable dough, & knead 10 to 12 mins.
  • Step #5 Coat the inside of a large bowl with olive oil.
  • Step #6 Place dough in bowl, cover, & allow to rise 1 hr in a warm location.
  • Step #7 Punch down dough, & divide in half.
  • Step #8 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step #9 Lightly grease paper.
  • Step #10 Shape dough into 2 round loaves, & place on the baking sheet.
  • Step #11 Sprinkle top with remaining rosemary.
  • Step #12 Cover, & allow to rise 1 hr, or until doubled in size.
  • Step #13 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #14 Brush loaves with egg.
  • Step #15 Bake 15 to 20 mins in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
