Lemon-glazed Fruit Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • Pastry .
  • Glaze .
  • 3/4 c powdered sugar .
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) .
  • 1-2 tsp water .
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice .
  • 1 tsp lemon peel (grated) .
  • 21 oz fruit pie filling .
  • Egg Wash .
  • Filling .
  • 1 egg white .
  • 3/4 c land o lakes butter (softened)

Directions
  • Step #1 In large mixer bowl mix all patry ingredients.
  • Step #2 Beat at lowish speed scraping bowl often, until well mixed (1-2 mins).
  • Step #3 Divide dough in half; flatten each into about a 1/2 inch thick rectangel.
  • Step #4 Wrap in plastic food wrap, put in the fridge 15 mins.
  • Step #5 Meanwhile, in small bowl whisk egg white until foamy;set aside.
  • Step #6 Heat oven to 375.
  • Step #7 On lightly floured surface roll half of dough into 12x18 inch rectangle.
  • Step #8 Use a ruler or straight edge to carefully push in sides to keep straight.
  • Step #9 Cut into six 4" squares.
  • Step #10 In center of each square place two tsp pie filling.
  • Step #11 Fold one corner of square over to form a triangel.
  • Step #12 Lightly brush bottom inside edges with beaten egg white.
  • Step #13 Pinch together edges to seal;crimp with fork.
  • Step #14 Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Step #15 Repeat with remaining dough & filling.
  • Step #16 Brush tops with remaining egg white.
  • Step #17 Carefully prick tops in two or three places with fork.
  • Step #18 Bake for 20-25 mins or until light golden brown.
  • Step #19 Cool 10 mins.
  • Step #20 In small bowl stir this together powdered sugar, lemon juice, lemon peel & enough water for glazing consistency; spread or drizzle over turnovers.
  • Step #21 Serve warm or cooled.
  • Step #22 Store cooled turnovers in airtight container.
