Pot Luck Layer Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4-1/3 c sliced green onions (sprinkle it over all) .
  • 1/2 lb crumbled bacon (can use 1 jar Hormel Bacon Bits) .
  • salt .
  • 1 c mayonnaise (spread on top) .
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs (sliced or sliced) .
  • 1/2 c shredded swiss cheese .
  • TOP LAYER (finishing touch) .
  • 1/3-1/2 c bacon bits (in middle on top) .
  • 10 oz frozen baby peas .
  • 3 c shredded lettuce .
  • 3 c shredded lettuce .
  • 1/4-1/2 c grated swiss cheese (arond the edges of top) .
  • pepper .
  • 1 tsp sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Thaw peas & boil eggs first while working on shredding the lettuce & the cheese.
  • Step #2 Start layering the ingredients in the order specified.
  • Step #3 Vary the amount of.
  • Step #4 salt according to the "saltiness" of the swiss cheese (or as you wish).
  • Step #5 When using egg cutter to slice the boiled eggs, carefully rotate the first slice set 90 degrees & cut them again to result in evenly sliced eggs.
  • Step #6 Otherwise just chop as you wish & spread the yolk & white evenly.
  • Step #7 Grated swiss cheese around the top edge can be substituted with shredded to make it simpler (which I have always done).
  • Step #8 Vary amount of green onion accordingly (with respect to the area of the top layer).
  • Step #9 Refrigerate several hrs before serving.
