Caramel Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 c evaporated milk, divided .
  • 1 c pecan pieces .
  • 1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips .
  • 13 oz individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped .
  • 3/4 c melted butter .
  • 1 (18 1/4 oz) package german chocolate cake mix with pudding

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Spray 9x13" pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Step #3 Combine cake mix, butter, & 1/3 c evaporated milk.
  • Step #4 Mix well.
  • Step #5 Spread 2/3 of batter into pan, press pecans into batter, bake 8-10 mins.
  • Step #6 Let cool.
  • Step #7 In sauce pan, over med-heat/flame, mix caramels & 1/3 c evaporated milk.
  • Step #8 Stir until melted & smooth.
  • Step #9 Pour caramel mixture over cooled cake, sprinkle chocolate chips on top of caramel.
  • Step #10 Drop spoonfuls of remaining batter over all.
  • Step #11 Sprinkle top with pecans.
  • Step #12 Bake an extra 15-18 mins, cool & cut.
