Cranberry Apple Crunch Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c quick-cooking oats, uncooked .
  • 1/2 c sliced nuts (mom uses walnuts) .
  • 1/2 c brown sugar, packed .
  • 1/4 c butter .
  • 1/3 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 c water .
  • 2 c peeled sliced tart apples .
  • 2 c cranberries .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Add the sugar & water to a saucepan; bring to a boil & boil for 5 mins.
  • Step #2 Add in the cranberries; heat another 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Remove pan from the heat; stir in the the apples.
  • Step #4 Pour mixture into a greased 10x6 inch baking dish; set aside.
  • Step #5 In a mixing bowl, brown sugar, mix together the oats, & salt; cut in the butter, flour, using a pastry mixer, until coarse crumbs form.
  • Step #6 Sprinkle top over cranberry mixture; sprinkle nuts over the top.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350° for 35 mins.
