Tilapia With Lime Butter Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 dash red pepper flakes .
  • salt .
  • 6 tbsps butter, room temp .
  • 1 tilapia fillet .
  • 1 shallot, minced fine .
  • 1/2 tsp lime zest or 5 drops lime oil .
  • 2 tbsps lime juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat a little oil in a fry pan.
  • Step #2 Mix butter w/ shallot, lime peel or oil, red pepper, then mix in juice.
  • Step #3 When it's mixed, add salt to taste.
  • Step #4 When oil is hot, add your tilapia.
  • Step #5 I put the side w/ dark stripe up--that makes the top the pretty white side (which is face down).
  • Step #6 Sometimes I add a tsp or 2 of the lime butter while tilapia is cooking.
  • Step #7 Probably only need about 5 mins each side.
  • Step #8 When you flip the tilapia to put the dark side down, spoon a tsp or so of the butter on the fish.
  • Step #9 Then when you take it off the stove to serve, put a dab on top.
  • Step #10 Sometimes I use orange peel to add a different color.
