Down Home Chicken Pot Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2-3 tbsps cold water .
  • 2 c cooked chicken (cubed) .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/3 c butter or margarine .
  • 14 1/2 oz Veg-All .
  • Crust .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1/3 c Crisco .
  • 2 tsps chicken bouillon granules .
  • 1 garlic clove (minced) .
  • 1 c flour .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 1/2 c water .
  • 2/3 c milk .
  • 1 tbsp Crisco .
  • 1/3 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 tbsp celery seeds .
  • Filling

Directions
  • Step #1 For crust, place flour, salt, celery seed in bowl.
  • Step #2 Cut in Crisco then stir in the water, use more water if needed to hold crust together.
  • Step #3 Divide dough in half & roll out two crusts.
  • Step #4 Place one crust on the bottom of your pan (sometimes I use a pie plate & sometimes I just use a 9x9 pan).
  • Step #5 For filling, melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • Step #6 Stir in your flour with the garlic, salt & pepper.
  • Step #7 Using a wire whisk slowly stir in the water, milk & bouillon.
  • Step #8 Bring to a boil & boil until thickened.
  • Step #9 Remove from the heat & stir in the your Veg All & chicken.
  • Step #10 Place the filling in the pan containing the bottom crust.
  • Step #11 Top with other crust & bake this at 350 degrees until top crust is browned & pie is bubbly.
  • Step #12 About 25-30 mins.
