Apple Butter Wedges Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large egg yolk .
  • 1/2 tsp apple pie spice .
  • 2 1/3 c flour .
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1 c butter, softened .
  • 1/3 c apple butter .
  • 2/3 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 In medium bowl with electric mixer, beat butter & sugar at medium speed until fluffy.
  • Step #2 Add egg yolk & apple butter & mix well.
  • Step #3 Add flour, cinnamon, apple pie spice & vanilla & beat until well mixed at lowish speed.
  • Step #4 Divide dough in half.
  • Step #5 Shape each half into 6" disc & wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Step #6 Refrigerate 30 mins.
  • Step #7 Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Step #8 Place one disc of dough into ungreased 9" round pie plate.
  • Step #9 With lightly floured hand, press dough into plate, covering plate completely.
  • Step #10 Flute edges.
  • Step #11 Deeply score into 8 wedges & using fork, prick surface all over.
  • Step #12 Repeat with remaining disc of dough & another pie plate.
  • Step #13 Bake 35 mins until golden brown.
  • Step #14 Remove to wire racks & cool completely.
  • Step #15 Cut into wedges.
