Garden Apple Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c chilled whipping cream .
  • 1/2-1 tsp rose water .
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 6 oz apple juice concentrate, thawed (3/4 c) .
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 3-4 drops red food coloring (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix egg yolks, sugar, milk & salt in saucepan.
  • Step #2 Cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, just until bubbles appear around edge.
  • Step #3 Pour into chilled bowl; cover & put in the fridge until room temperature (1 to 2 hrs).
  • Step #4 Stir remaining ingredients into milk mixture.
  • Step #5 Pour into freezer can; put dasher in place.
  • Step #6 Cover up & adjust crank.
  • Step #7 Place can in freezer tub.
  • Step #8 Fill freezer tub 1/3 full of ice; add in the remaining ice alternately with layers of rock salt (6 parts ice to 1 part rock salt).
  • Step #9 Turn crank until it turns with difficulty.
  • Step #10 Drain water from freezer tub.
  • Step #11 Remove lid; remove dasher.
  • Step #12 Pack mixture down; replace lid.
  • Step #13 Repack in ice & salt.
  • Step #14 Let stand several hrs to ripen.
  • Step #15 Yields 8 servings.
