Layered Basil Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 carrots (julienned) .
  • 1 1/2 tsps fresh basil (sliced) or 1/2 tsp dried basil .
  • Dressing .
  • 1/3 c swiss cheese (shredded) .
  • 1/3 c cheddar cheese (shredded) .
  • 3/4 lb ham (cooked, cubed) .
  • 2 tsps Dijon mustard .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 red onion (sliced) .
  • 2 eggs (hard boiled, cut into wedges) .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1/2 c sour cream .
  • 4 c salad greens (torn) .
  • 1 1/2 c macaroni (cooked, drained) .
  • 2 c frozen peas (thawed) .
  • 1 c mayonnaise

Directions
  • Step #1 In a 3 1/2 quart glass bowl, layer greens, onion, carrots, peas, macaroni, ham & cheeses.
  • Step #2 In a small bowl, mix the first six dressing ingredients; spread over salad.
  • Step #3 Garnish with eggs if desired.
  • Step #4 Cover up & chill for several hrs.
