Apple Pie Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps cinnamon .
  • 18 c sliced sliced peeled cored baking apples .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 10 c water .
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice .
  • 1 c cornstarch .
  • 4 c sugar .
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice; set aside.
  • Step #2 In a Dutch oven over med-heat/flame, mix sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, & nutmeg.
  • Step #3 Add water; bring to a boil.
  • Step #4 Boil for 2 mins stirring constantly.
  • Step #5 Add apples; return to a boil.
  • Step #6 Reduce heat; cover & let simmer until the apples are tender, about 8-10 mins.
  • Step #7 Place in sterilized jars & seal.
