Ham And Chicken Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 2 chicken breasts .
  • oil, for deep frying .
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • flour, for dusting .
  • 1 egg .
  • 2 spring roll wrappers .
  • 1/4 tsp five-spice powder .
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed .
  • 2 slices ham (large slice)

Directions
  • Step #1 Place one chicken breast between plastic wrap or freezer bags & bash it until it is nice & thin -- repeat with the other breast.
  • Step #2 Mix the pepper, five spice & crushed garlic.
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top the mixture over both breasts.
  • Step #4 Roll up one slice of ham & place it on the chicken breast.
  • Step #5 Roll the chicken up firmly & fold the ends under.
  • Step #6 Whisk the egg & milk together.
  • Step #7 Coat the chicken with flour (easiest in a freezer bag) shake off the excess.
  • Step #8 Dip in the egg mixture -- shake of the excess.
  • Step #9 This step will stop the chicken from separating from the spring roll wrapper.
  • Step #10 Place the chicken "roll" diagonally across the spring roll wrapper.
  • Step #11 Brush some of the egg mixture on the ends of the wrapper.
  • Step #12 Roll the chicken, tucking the ends in as you roll.
  • Step #13 Deep fry in oil until golden brown & cooked through.
  • Step #14 Don't have the oil too hot -- otherwise the spring roll wrappers will brown before the chicken is cooked.
  • Step #15 Drain on paper towels & then cut on the diagonal.
  • Step #16 Serve on a bed of lettuce with dipping sauces.
  • Step #17 Serve with your favourite sauce.
