Brown Rice Breakfast Bowl Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c raisins .
  • 1/4 c sliced walnuts .
  • brown sugar (optional) .
  • nonfat milk (optional) .
  • 1 c brown rice .
  • 2 1/2 c water .
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the water to a boil.
  • Step #2 Add in rice & salt; lower heat to medium-low & cook, covered, about 40 mins or until tender.
  • Step #3 Stir in raisins & walnuts; cook, uncovered 5 more mintues.
  • Step #4 Serve in bowls with milk & brown sugar if desired.
