Chocolate No-bakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa .
  • 2 c white sugar or turbinado sugar, if you are veggie .
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine (I use a lite, no TFA margerine, & it works great!) .
  • 1/2 c canned milk (or whatever u got) .
  • 2 1/2 c quick-cooking oats .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 1/2 c coconut flakes

Directions
  • Step #1 Lay out a 3 foot long piece of wax paper.
  • Step #2 In a sauce pan, mix sugar & cocoa until ALL lumps are broken up & evenly mixed.
  • Step #3 Turn the pan on MEDIUM (5) & add butter & milk, stirring the mixture & scraping the bottom of the pan CONSTANTLY.
  • Step #4 *If using turbinado, heat over medium-low heat (3) until all granules are disolved, then turn up to medium heat (5).
  • Step #5 Boil for 90 seconds.
  • Step #6 No more -- One Mississippi style.
  • Step #7 Remove from heat, add oats & coconut & MIX WELL! Scoop out heaping Tablespoons & plop onto waxed paper.
  • Step #8 Tap down pan to settle.
  • Step #9 WAIT! Allow to cool & firm up.
  • Step #10 Lick the empty bowl if you want a taste, otherwise you'll burn the fire outta your tongue! ENJOY! Store in a ziplock baggie or cookie jar.
