Texas Chili Weiners (hot Dogs) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp cumin .
  • 3/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c mild chiles .
  • 1/2 c onions, finely sliced .
  • 1 lb lean ground beef .
  • 1/2 lb ground sausage .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/2 tsp oregano .
  • 2 c water .
  • 1 tbsp oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Sauté onion in oil over medium to medium high heat.
  • Step #2 Add beef, chilies, sausage, garlic & cumin; stir as it's cooking to break up the meat.
  • Step #3 When onion is translucent, stir in the water.
  • Step #4 Bring to a boil, uncovered.
  • Step #5 Reduce heat & let simmer at least one hr or until stock cooks down.
  • Step #6 Add salt.
  • Step #7 Serve with sliced onions & mustard on hot dogs in a roll.
  • Step #8 Enough for 8-10 dogs.
