Maple-stewed Apples Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large granny smith apples (or other firm tart apple) .
  • 1 tsp butter or margarine .
  • 1 dash cinnamon or nutmeg .
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup .
  • 3 tbsps water

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel apple or if preferred leave peel on.
  • Step #2 Cut apples into quarters & remove the core.
  • Step #3 Slice the quarters into 1/8 inch thick slices the long way, then cut each slice into inch wide slices.
  • Step #4 Combine apple, syrup, cinnamon & water in small saucepan.
  • Step #5 Cook over medium low heat, stirring every once in awhile until apple is tender.
  • Step #6 If mixture gets too dry before apple get tender all a bit more water.
  • Step #7 Serve warm.
  • Step #8 (If desired add 2 tbs raisins per apple to the mixture when you begin cooking & increase the water to ¼ c).
