Sourdough Burger Buns Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs, beaten .
  • 1/2 c milk, lukewarm .
  • 3 tbsps butter .
  • 2 tbsps sugar .
  • 2 c sourdough starter, proofed & active .
  • 3 c all-purpose flour (up to half of flour could be whole wheat) .
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Stir together all ingredients except flour.
  • Step #2 Add flour, mixing until it comes together enough to be turned out & kneaded.
  • Step #3 Knead until dough is smooth & satiny (this can be done on a mixer or bread machine, if preferred).
  • Step #4 At this point dough may be put in the fridged up to 24 hrs for a more flavorful bread.
  • Step #5 Bring dough back to about room temp before contiuing with shaping.
  • Step #6 Let dough rest for 15 or 20 mins & then roll it out to 1/2" thick.
  • Step #7 Cut with a 4" round cutter.
  • Step #8 Cover up & let rise until doubled in bulk.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350°F for 15 to 18 mins.
  • Step #10 Cool on wire rack.
