Pork Adobo Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c white vinegar .
  • 1 tbsp black pepper .
  • 3 c water .
  • 4 tbsps soy sauce .
  • 1 1/3 oz bean thread vermicelli (optional) .
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch, mixed with equal amount cold water (optional) .
  • 2-4 c cooked rice .
  • 1 large onion, sliced .
  • 6-10 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 2-3 lbs boneless pork, cut into bite-sized chunks .
  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil (to brown meat)

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown pork in the oil.
  • Step #2 Place all the ingredients except cornstarch, vermicelli & rice into a pot & bring to a boil.
  • Step #3 Reduce heat & let simmer for 30 mins or until meat is tender.
  • Step #4 Now you have several options: a)To thicken the sauce with cornstarch just stir the mixture in & return to a boil for a min, keep stirring to avoid clumps.
  • Step #5 b) If you're using the vermicelli, stir the noodles into the stew & cook for about 3 more mins.
  • Step #6 The noodles are done when they're clear & soft.
  • Step #7 (You may need to add a little more water.
  • Step #8 ).
