2 tbsps cornstarch, mixed with equal amount cold water (optional) .
2-4 c cooked rice .
1 large onion, sliced .
6-10 garlic cloves, crushed .
2-3 lbs boneless pork, cut into bite-sized chunks .
1-2 tbsp cooking oil (to brown meat)
Directions
Step #1 Brown pork in the oil.
Step #2 Place all the ingredients except cornstarch, vermicelli & rice into a pot & bring to a boil.
Step #3 Reduce heat & let simmer for 30 mins or until meat is tender.
Step #4 Now you have several options: a)To thicken the sauce with cornstarch just stir the mixture in & return to a boil for a min, keep stirring to avoid clumps.
Step #5 b) If you're using the vermicelli, stir the noodles into the stew & cook for about 3 more mins.
Step #6 The noodles are done when they're clear & soft.
