Bolognese Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 glass red wine .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 50 g tomato puree .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano .
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced .
  • 2 (400 g) cans sliced tomatoes .
  • 250 g streaky bacon, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp dried basil .
  • 250 g beef, minced .
  • 250 g pork, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Add oil to pan & sweat onions on a medium/low heat for 5 mins or until soft, making sure not to brown them.
  • Step #3 Then add garlic.
  • Step #4 2.
  • Step #5 Add beef, pork & bacon & let it brown.
  • Step #6 3.
  • Step #7 Add tomatoes, wine, tomato puree, oregano & basil.
  • Step #8 Mix thoroughly.
  • Step #9 4.
  • Step #10 Leave on lowest possible heat for 4+ hrs, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #11 5.
  • Step #12 Spice up to taste.
