Ingredients
1 garlic clove, minced .
1/4 tsp celery salt .
1/2 tsp salt .
3 c flour .
1/2 c ice water .
1 small yellow onion, sliced fine .
1/2 c breadcrumbs .
1/2 lb lean ground beef .
1/2 tsp ground cloves .
1/2 tsp dried oregano .
1/2 tsp dried summer savory .
1/2 lb ground lean pork .
1 c shortening .
1 tsp salt
Directions
Step #1 Put ingredients, beef through the oregano in large pot.
Step #2 Add ½ c water & bring to a boil.
Step #3 Reduce the heat & let simmer partially covered stirring every once in awhile for 20 mins until meats are cooked through.
Step #4 Remove from the heat & stir in the enough breadcrumbs to absorb the juices.
Step #5 Set aside.
Step #6 Preheat oven to 375.
Step #7 Make pastry by mixing flour, & salt together with a pastry mixer or food processor/blender, shortening, until mixture is crumbly.
Step #8 Add the ice water 1 tbs at a time & mix until dough is not sticky.
Step #9 Turn out dough on a lightly floured board.
Step #10 Cut dough in half & roll out 1 half to fit a 9 inch pie pan.
Step #11 Line pie pan with dough.
Step #12 Spoon filling over dough.
Step #13 Roll out the other half of dough & place over the filling.
Step #14 Trim edges & flute.
Step #15 Cut stem vents in top of crust.
Step #16 Place pie plate on baking sheet & place this in oven.
Step #17 Bake 25-30 mins until pastry is browned.
Step #18 Remove from oven & let set 5-10 mins.
Step #19 Cut into wedges & serve hot.
