O.j. Sarah's Granola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c dried blueberries (optional) .
  • 1 1/4 c oil .
  • 1 1/2 c raw oat bran .
  • 3 c raw sunflower seeds .
  • 4 tsps vanilla extract .
  • 2 c shredded coconut .
  • 1 1/2 c honey .
  • 10 c rolled oats

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine oil, honey & vanilla & bring to a boil; remove this from heat.
  • Step #2 Combine oats, bran, sunflower seeds & coconut In a large-ish pan (I use a disposable aluminun roasting pan); pour hot oil mixture over oat mixture & stir well.
  • Step #3 Spread in an even layer & bake this at 350 F, stirring every once in awhile (every 10 to 15 mins), until golden brown; this takes about 1 hr.
  • Step #4 Stir in the dried blueberries after removing the granola from the oven.
  • Step #5 Store In a large-ish airtight container, or freeze portions in ziplock bags.
