10 slices sourdough French bread, crusts removed if desired, divided .
4 large eggs .
sour cream .
2 c medium salsa, divided .
1 (4 oz) can sliced green chilies, drained .
1 c sliced green onions, divided .
1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained & rinsed, divided .
3 c grated monterey jack cheese, divided .
fresh ground pepper .
2 c cubed cooked chicken breasts, divided .
1/2 tsp salt
Directions
Step #1 Place/fit half the bread into a 13 x9 inch baking dish that has been lightly oiled or sprayed with nonstick cooking spray (the slices can overlap slightly).
Step #2 Top with half the cheese, half the salsa, half the chicken, half the green onions, & half the beans.
Step #3 Repeat layers.
Step #4 In a bowl, milk, chiles, whisk the eggs, salt, & pepper together.
Step #5 Pour over top of bread mixture.
Step #6 Cover up & put in the fridge for several hrs or overnight.
Step #7 Preheat oven to 375°; bring strata to about room temp.
Step #8 Bake, uncovered, for 50-55 mins or until set & bubbly.
