- 1/2 c sugar .
- 1 tsp cornstarch .
- 1/2 c milk .
- 10 slices day-old French bread (3/4-inch thick) .
- 1/4 tsp baking powder .
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine, softened .
- 1 tsp vanilla .
- 2 tbsps butter or margarine .
- 1 tsp cinnamon .
- 4 1/2 c unsweetened frozen blueberries
Directions
- Step #1 Beat eggs, milk, vanilla & baking powder until smooth.
- Step #2 Pour into large shallow baking dish.
- Step #3 Add bread slices, turning once to coat.
- Step #4 Cover up & chill 8 hrs or overnight.
- Step #5 Combine blueberries, sugar, melted butter, cornstarch & cinnamon.
- Step #6 Pour into greased 9x13x2" baking dish.
- Step #7 Cover up & chill 8 hrs or overnight.
- Step #8 Remove both pans from refrigerator 30 mins.
- Step #9 before baking.
- Step #10 Place prepared bread on top of blueberry mixture.
- Step #11 Spread softened butter on top.
- Step #12 Bake, uncovered, at 400F for 30-35 mins, or until toast is golden brown & blueberries bubble.
