Ingredients

1 c sliced nuts (I use pecans) .
1 1/2 c self-rising flour .
1/4 c cocoa powder .
1 c granulated sugar .
1/2 tsp vanilla extract .
1 c thick applesauce .
1 c raisins .
1 tsp cinnamon .
1 egg, lightly beaten .
1/2 c shortening

Directions

Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step #2 Grease & flour a 13x9x2-inch cake pan.
Step #3 Combine all ingredients, adding the nuts last & stir until well mixed.
Step #4 Pour into prepared cake pan.
Step #5 Bake 45-50 mins.
