Italian Sausage, Tomato, And Cream With Bowties Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz) can Italian plum tomatoes, coarsely sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp dried red pepper flakes .
  • 12 oz bow tie pasta .
  • 3 tbsps minced fresh parsley .
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage, casings removed & crumbled .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1 (3 oz) can black olives, sliced .
  • 1 1/2 c whipping cream .
  • 1/2 c sliced onions .
  • freshly grated parmesan cheese .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oil in heavy large skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Add sausage & pepper flakes.
  • Step #3 Cook until sausage is no longer pink, stirring frequently, about 7 mins.
  • Step #4 Add onion & garlic to skillet & cook this until onion is tender & sausage is light brown, stirring every once in awhile, about 7 mins.
  • Step #5 Add tomatoes, olives, cream & salt.
  • Step #6 Simmer until mixture thickens slightly, about 4 mins.
  • Step #7 Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite, stirring every once in awhile to prevent sticking.
  • Step #8 Toss with mixture & sprinkle with parmesan.
