Chocolate Pecan Piei Recipe

Ingredients
  • 12 pecan halves
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 c packed brown sugar
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c sliced pecans

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Over hot, not boiling, water melt 1 c chocolate chips.
  • Step #3 Remove from heat, & let cool.
  • Step #4 In a small bowl, beat the eggs & salt; beat with an electric mixer at high speed until very thick & lemon colored, about 5 mins.
  • Step #5 Gradually beat in the brown sugar & melted chocolate.
  • Step #6 Stir in sliced pecans & remaining 1 c chocolate morsels.
  • Step #7 Pour filling into the unbaked pie crust.
  • Step #8 Decorate top this with pecan halves.
  • Step #9 Bake for 25 to 30 mins.
