Soba In Toasted Sesame Seed Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 tsps white sugar or Splenda Sugar Blend for Baking .
  • 1 1/2 tsps sesame oil .
  • 2 1/2 tbsps soy sauce .
  • 3 c broccoli florets .
  • 5 green onions, sliced .
  • 8 oz dried soba noodles .
  • 1/2 c thinly sliced chicken breasts, poached (optional) .
  • 1/4 c balsamic vinegar .
  • 1 garlic clove, minced .
  • 1/2 c sesame seeds .
  • 1/2 c firm tofu, jullienned (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step #2 Pour the sesame seeds onto a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Step #3 Toast the seeds in the oven for 12 to 15 mins, until they are a rich brown around the edges.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Step #5 Add the noodles & cook them for 4 to 6 mins, or until they are just tender.
  • Step #6 (Check the package for best cooking time as it will vary by the thickness of your noodles.
  • Step #7 ) Drain them, rinse them well with cold water, & drain them again.
  • Step #8 In a large mixing bowl, garlic, sugar, mix together the vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil & green onions.
  • Step #9 Add the noodles, & the toasted sesame seeds.
  • Step #10 Toss well, then stir in the the broccoli.
  • Step #11 Let the dish sit for 20 mins at about room temp before serving.
