4-6 tsps tiny dried red chilies, crushed or hot red pepper flakes .
1 tsp salt .
3 tbsps oil .
1/3 c finely minced fresh tomatoes .
2 tsps molasses .
2 tsps sugar .
1/4 c minced onions
Directions
Step #1 In a small frying pant or in a wok, heat te oil & stir fry the onions & garlic.
Step #2 After a min, add the hot pepper flakes or dried chiles.
Step #3 Reduce heat & stir constantly so the peppers don't burn.
Step #4 As soon as the flakes darken a little, cook the sambal until most of the moisture has evaporated, add the rest of the ingredients & on the lowest heat, about 15-20 mins.
Step #5 The final product should be so well cooked that you can't detect the tomatoes.
Step #6 This recipe makes only a small amount, which is all you'll need.
