Ingredients
1/2 c red wine vinegar .
1/4 tsp garlic powder .
1 tsp pepper .
2 medium red onions, slice thin .
1 lb ground veal .
1/4 c catsup .
1/2 tsp dill weed .
1 lb ground beef .
1 tbsp minced onions .
2 tsps salt .
1/4 c salad oil .
1 loaf rye bread or 8 rye rolls .
1 tsp celery seeds
Directions
Step #1 In large bowl mix meat, catsup, salt, pepper, instant minced onion, celery seed & garlic powder.
Step #2 Shape mixture into 16 thin patties; chill in the fridge.
Step #3 Mix vinegar, oil & dill weed.
Step #4 Place onion slices in shallow glass dish; pour vinegar mixture over onions.
Step #5 Cover up; put in the fridge at least 30 mins.
Step #6 Grill to your to how you like your burgers.
Step #7 Wrap rye bread in a single thickness of heavy duty aluminum foil wrap.
Step #8 Place on grill 4" from medium coals.
Step #9 Heat 20 mins, turning every once in awhile.
Step #10 Remove onions from marinade; Top burgers with onions.
Step #11 Use reserve merinade for extra sauce on burgers if you want to.
