Hamburgers, Scandinavian Style Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c red wine vinegar .
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder .
  • 1 tsp pepper .
  • 2 medium red onions, slice thin .
  • 1 lb ground veal .
  • 1/4 c catsup .
  • 1/2 tsp dill weed .
  • 1 lb ground beef .
  • 1 tbsp minced onions .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • 1/4 c salad oil .
  • 1 loaf rye bread or 8 rye rolls .
  • 1 tsp celery seeds

Directions
  • Step #1 In large bowl mix meat, catsup, salt, pepper, instant minced onion, celery seed & garlic powder.
  • Step #2 Shape mixture into 16 thin patties; chill in the fridge.
  • Step #3 Mix vinegar, oil & dill weed.
  • Step #4 Place onion slices in shallow glass dish; pour vinegar mixture over onions.
  • Step #5 Cover up; put in the fridge at least 30 mins.
  • Step #6 Grill to your to how you like your burgers.
  • Step #7 Wrap rye bread in a single thickness of heavy duty aluminum foil wrap.
  • Step #8 Place on grill 4" from medium coals.
  • Step #9 Heat 20 mins, turning every once in awhile.
  • Step #10 Remove onions from marinade; Top burgers with onions.
  • Step #11 Use reserve merinade for extra sauce on burgers if you want to.
