Oven Mushroom Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 (10 oz) cans mushroom soup .
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs stew meat .
  • 6 potatoes .
  • 4 carrots .
  • 1 (2 oz) package onion soup mix .
  • 2 tsps ketchup .
  • 2 tbsps oil .
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes .
  • 1 large onion

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut stew meat & onion into 1" cubes.
  • Step #2 Brown the beef in the hot oil & add the onions half way through cooking.
  • Step #3 Stir in the soup & two soup cans of water.
  • Step #4 Cut the carrots into 1 1/2" pieces.
  • Step #5 Peel & quarter the potatoes.
  • Step #6 Stir all remaining ingredients into the beef, stirring well before you add the carrots & potatoes.
  • Step #7 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #8 Cover up & place this in a 325F oven for 3 hrs.
  • Step #9 Stir once per hr & add more hot water if the gravy gets too thick.
  • Step #10 I sometimes substitute Lazy Meatballs for the meat.
