Whole Wheat-walnut Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c whole wheat flour .
  • 1 1/2 c vanilla-flavored soy milk .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c all-purpose white flour .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/4 c cinammon applesauce .
  • 1/3 c uncooked farina (Cream of Wheat Cereal) .
  • 1/3 c sugar .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 c sliced walnuts .
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 Chop walnuts & set aside.
  • Step #2 Combine flours, baking soda,farina cereal, baking powder, sugar, salt in medium bowl & fluff to mix.
  • Step #3 In sepatate small bowl, mix soy milk, applesauce & egg.
  • Step #4 Blend well.
  • Step #5 Combine both wet & dry together.
  • Step #6 Let sit 5 mins while griddle preheats.
  • Step #7 Mix briefly just before using.
  • Step #8 Drop batter by 1/4 c onto hot griddle.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with sliced walnuts.
  • Step #10 Flip when bubbles rise to surface.
  • Step #11 Cook until done.
  • Step #12 Serve warm or let cool & freeze airtight.
  • Step #13 Reheat in toaster oven.
  • Step #14 Makes 12 pancakes.
