Asparagus With Basil-parmesan Butter Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c packed grated parmesan cheese (about 2 1/2 oz) .
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil .
  • 1 lb asparagus, ends trimmed .
  • 1 large garlic clove, sliced .
  • 1 1/2 tsps fresh lemon juice .
  • 3 tbsps butter, room temperature

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook asparagus in large pot of boiling salted water until just crisp-tender, about 3 mins.
  • Step #2 Drain well.
  • Step #3 Arrange asparagus on broilerproof platter.
  • Step #4 Preheat broiler.
  • Step #5 Beat butter in medium bowl until fluffy.
  • Step #6 Beat in cheese, basil, garlic & lemon juice.
  • Step #7 Spice up to taste with salt & pepper.
  • Step #8 Drop butter mixture by tspfuls over asparagus.
  • Step #9 Broil asparagus until topping browns, watching closely to avoid burning, about 3 mins.
  • Step #10 Serve hot.
