Saffron Rice With Cashews And Raisins Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 c water .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps butter, softened .
  • 5 cloves .
  • 1/4 tsp crumbled saffron threads .
  • 1/4 c sliced cashews .
  • 2 bay leaves .
  • 1/4 c raisins .
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken in half .
  • 1 1/2 c basmati rice

Directions
  • Step #1 Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
  • Step #2 Put the rice in a medium saucepan with the water, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, saffron, & salt.
  • Step #3 Bring to a boil, covered, reduce the heat to low, & cook, for 15 mins.
  • Step #4 Remove from the heat & let sit, without removing the lid, for 10 mins.
  • Step #5 With a fork, cashews, carefully stir in the the butter, & raisins.
