Pumpkin Frosted Dream Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 14 oz canned pumpkin .
  • 2 oz whipped dessert topping mix .
  • PUMPKIN FLUFFY FROSTING .
  • 1 1/2 c cold milk .
  • 3 oz instant butterscotch pudding mix .
  • 18 1/4 oz spice cake mix .
  • 2 oz whipped dessert topping mix .
  • 4 large eggs .
  • 1 c cold water

Directions
  • Step #1 mix cake mix, whipped topping mix right from the envelope, eggs & water in large mixing bowl.
  • Step #2 of electric mixer -- mix until moistened.
  • Step #3 beat at medium speed about 4 mins.
  • Step #4 pour this into 2 greased & floured 9" layer cake pans.
  • Step #5 bake this at 350* for 30 mins or until cake tester comes out clean.
  • Step #6 cool in pans for 15 mins.
  • Step #7 then loosen from sides & carefully remove cake.
  • Step #8 finish cooling on wire racks & split each layer horizontally, making 4 thin layers.
  • Step #9 spread each layer with 1 c PUMPKIN FLUFFY FROSTING.
  • Step #10 stack.
  • Step #11 frost sides with 4 c prepared Dream Whip topping.
  • Step #12 sprinkle top this with 1/4 c sliced pecans.
  • Step #13 chill before serving.
  • Step #14 to prepare PUMPKIN FLUFFY FROSTING:.
  • Step #15 mix whipped topping mix, instand pudding & cold milk in a deep narrow bottom bowl.
  • Step #16 beat slowly till well mixed.
  • Step #17 slowly increase beating speed & beat until mixture will form soft peaks.
  • Step #18 about 4-6 mins.
  • Step #19 fold in canned pumpkin -- mix well.
  • Step #20 Yield about 4 c.
