Creamed Beef With Rice Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger root
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 lb beef stew meat
  • 3 tbsps heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch, or as needed
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 c uncooked long grain white rice
  • 1 c sliced fresh mushrooms
  • fresh parsley, for garnish
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 c water
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring the rice & water to a boil in a pot.
  • Step #2 Reduce heat to low, cover, & cook 20 mins.
  • Step #3 Place the beef in a bowl, sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce, & season this with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Heat the oil in a skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #5 Mix in the onion, 1/2 the green bell pepper, 1/2 the red bell pepper, ginger, & garlic.
  • Step #6 Cook & stir until vegetables are tender.
  • Step #7 Transfer beef to the skillet, & cook this until evenly brown.
  • Step #8 Mix in the mushrooms.
  • Step #9 Reduce heat to low, & let simmer 5 mins.
  • Step #10 Stir in heavy cream & cornstarch as needed to thicken the sauce.
  • Step #11 Mix in the remaining green bell pepper & red bell pepper.
  • Step #12 Remove from heat, & transfer to a large bowl (not the one used to season the beef).
  • Step #13 Mix cooked rice into the bowl with the beef.
  • Step #14 Serve garnished with parsley.
