Plum Pork Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp cornflour .
  • 2 tbsps water .
  • 2 c stewed plums or canned plums .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1 medium orange (grated rind & the juice) .
  • 4 lean pork butterfly steaks .
  • 1 medium onion (sliced) .
  • fresh ground black pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 160'C/325'F.
  • Step #2 Cut each steak in half & brown in a non stick frypan with a little oil if needed.
  • Step #3 Place browned meat in a casserole dish & add the plums, orange juice, grated orange rind, onion, cinnamon & pepper.
  • Step #4 Cover up & bake for 1&1/2 hrs or until the meat is tender.
  • Step #5 Drain the juice from the dish into a small saucepan.
  • Step #6 Keep steaks warm.
  • Step #7 Mix together the cornflour & water & add to the juice.
  • Step #8 Heat carefully until thickened.
  • Step #9 Arrange pork on a serving plate & pour over the sauce.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with sliced parsley if desired.
