Kittencal's Easy Stove Top Stuffing Saute Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 small green pepper, coarsley sliced .
  • salt (optional) .
  • 1 1/2 c canned corn niblets, drained (I just use one whole can) .
  • 1-2 c canned mushroom slices, drained .
  • 2 (120 g) boxes stove top chicken flavor stuffing mix .
  • 1 3/4 c chicken broth (homemade or storebought) .
  • black pepper .
  • 2 large onions, coarsley sliced .
  • 2-3 stalks celery, coarsley sliced .
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (or to taste) .
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine

Directions
  • Step #1 In an extra large frypan or Dutch oven melt butter & saute the onions, celery, garlic, & green pepper until soft (about 5-6 mins).
  • Step #2 Slowly add in the chicken broth, mushrooms (if using) & corn niblets; cover & let simmer for about 5-6 mins.
  • Step #3 Add in black pepper to taste.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat & add in the two boxes of chicken stuffing mix, & and toss with a wooden spoon until the bread crumbs have absorbed the broth.
  • Step #5 Cover up with a lid & let this stand for 10 mins.
  • Step #6 If you find it too dry just add in more broth.
  • Step #7 Fluff with a spoon or fork.
  • Step #8 Spice up with salt if needed & serve.
