Pan-fried Porterhouse Steaks With Lynchburg Pan Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil .
  • 1/4 c jack daniel's tennessee whiskey .
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine .
  • 2 (1-1 1/4 lb) porterhouse steaks, cut 1 to 1 1/4 inches thick .
  • 2 tsps worcestershire sauce .
  • salt & pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Dry steaks; sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Heat 12-inch cast-iron skillet over med-heat/flame for ten mins.
  • Step #3 Coat with oil.
  • Step #4 Place steaks in pan; cook, until seared & brown on one side, about 5 mins.
  • Step #5 Turn & cook 5 mins on the other side for medium-rare; 6 mins for medium.
  • Step #6 Remove from skillet.
  • Step #7 For sauce:.
  • Step #8 Melt butter in skillet; stir in the Worcestershire sauce & whiskey.
  • Step #9 Bring to a boil; cook 1 to 2 mins.
  • Step #10 Slice steaks, if desired.
  • Step #11 Pour sauce over steaks & serve.
